“Not anymore,” I said softly, pulling a set of legal documents from Harrison’s leather folder and dropping them onto the floor right in front of his hands. “These are divorce papers, along with an immediate termination of your employment at Vanguard Dominion. Furthermore, a full audit of your department begins tonight. Every expense, every contract, and every single cent you managed will be investigated.”
Adrian looked at the papers, his face twisted in horror. He reached out to grab my shoes, but two burly security guards immediately stepped in, grabbing him by his arms and hauling him to his feet.
“Clara! You can’t do this to me! I built this career!” Adrian screamed as he was forcibly dragged backward toward the exit, his polished image completely shattered in front of the most influential people in the industry. Vanessa backed away from him in horror, completely abandoning him to avoid being ruined herself.
I turned my back on his desperate cries, walking toward the central stage where the microphone awaited. The crowd watched in awe as I took my rightful place at the head of the company. The seven years of sacrifice were over, but my true reign had just begun.
