A Viral Moment Put Kate Back in the Spotlight
During the Bute visit, William and Kate were also involved in a lighthearted moment that quickly attracted attention.
While Kate was speaking with members of the public during a walkabout, William was seen gesturing toward his watch and encouraging her to keep moving along the line.
Kate continued speaking with people for a little longer.
The exchange was widely interpreted by coverage of the event as playful rather than dramatic.
It was a small moment, but it demonstrated something important about the couple’s public appearances.
Kate frequently spends considerable time talking with members of the public.
William sometimes has to keep an eye on the schedule.
Their personalities can therefore produce moments that look amusing or surprising when captured by cameras.
A short video clip, however, should not automatically be transformed into a story about serious disagreement.
