My Sister Announced She Was Pregnant by My Husband at Our 10th Anniversary Party—But the DNA Results I Had Hidden for Months Were Only the Beginning

I had never told him everything.

There had been a baby before him.

A son.

A child I had lost before Mason and I ever met.

Or at least that was what I believed.

The first crack in my marriage appeared six months before our anniversary.

Mason started working Saturdays.

Then Sundays.

His consulting firm suddenly required overnight meetings.

He began taking calls outside.

Turning his phone facedown.

Changing passwords.

None of those things alone proved anything.

Mason kissed me that morning and said he had forgotten to buy flowers.

“I’ll grab some tonight,” he promised.

At six-thirty, he left the house.
