My Sister Announced She Was Pregnant by My Husband at Our 10th Anniversary Party—But the DNA Results I Had Hidden for Months Were Only the Beginning

Sometimes guilty people understand evidence before they see it.

I held up the report.

“You told everyone the baby belongs to Mason.”

“It does.”

“No.”

Her breathing became shallow.

“Mason isn’t the father.”

The ballroom erupted.

Brooke grabbed my wrist.

“You’re lying.”

I pulled free.

“No, Brooke. You’re the one who seems to enjoy that.”

Mason stared at her.

“What is she talking about?”

I turned toward a table near the dance floor.

“Jason?”

A dark-haired man in his mid-thirties froze.

He had come because Brooke invited several coworkers.

He slowly stood.

Brooke looked at him.

Jason looked at her.

And Mason understood everything.

“No,” Mason whispered.

Jason did not speak.

He didn’t need to.

That single look between them said enough.

Mason dropped into his chair.

Brooke started crying.

Not because she had hurt me.

Because she had been caught.

She turned toward me, voice trembling.

“You think you won?”

At that moment, I thought I had.

I had exposed my husband.

Humiliated my sister.

Destroyed the lie they intended to use to replace me.

I filed for divorce two days later.

Mason moved out.

Brooke disappeared from family gatherings.
