A few people gasped.
Brooke lifted her chin.
“We didn’t plan this.”
I almost laughed.
“You booked hotel rooms. You lied about business trips. You texted each other every night. Which part wasn’t planned?”
Mason looked as though someone had punched him.
Brooke’s face hardened.
“You can make me the villain if that helps you sleep.”
“I don’t need help sleeping.”
She placed both hands around the microphone.
“Mason loves me.”
Mason said nothing.
Brooke noticed.
“So say it,” she snapped.
