My Husband Threw Me Out While I Was in Labor, Then Came to the Hospital With His New Woman — He Didn’t Know I’d Just Inherited $20 Million… or What Investigators Were About to Find

“Say it.”

“The inheritance.”

I waited.

“You really got twenty million?”

“Yes.”

Silence.

Long enough that I could almost hear him recalculating his entire life.

Then:

“Rebecca, we’re still legally married.”

“That isn’t going to help you.”

“You don’t know that.”

“My trust attorney does.”

Another silence.

“What did Rachel tell you?”

“That my grandfather’s inheritance is separate property.”

Daniel said nothing.

“And the trust prohibits using the assets to guarantee liabilities created by a spouse without written authorization from the trustee.”

Nothing.

“And you don’t have authorization.”

“Rebecca—”

“And your loan application is being reviewed for fraud.”

His breathing stopped.

“What?”

“The forged emails too.”

“Those weren’t forged.”
