Daniel had just come from a meeting where we learned Caleb’s latest medication had failed.
He walked past Adrian.
Adrian said something like:
“We got good news.”
Daniel snapped.
“Can you celebrate somewhere else?”
The entire hallway went silent.
Adrian’s face changed instantly.
“I’m sorry.”
Daniel realized what he had done.
