I put laxatives in my husband’s coffee before he left to see his mistress

Then another.

I told them what I knew.

All of it.

Including what I had done to Brad’s coffee.

The officer’s expression immediately hardened.

“You put something in his drink without his knowledge?”

“Yes.”

I wanted desperately to justify it.

I didn’t.

“It was wrong.”

They documented it.

That decision could have had consequences for me, and I deserved to face that reality.

But it also did not erase what police found next.

One officer examined the disturbed living room.

Another photographed the financial documents.

Melissa gave her statement separately.

Then Detective Marcus Lee arrived because the situation had shifted from a domestic argument to possible financial fraud and a reported threat.

He asked me:

“Did you sign this lending document?”

“No.”

“Are you certain?”

“Yes.”

He pointed to the signature.

“Could Brad legally sign for you?”

“No.”

“Power of attorney?”

“No.”

He photographed everything.

Then he asked:

“Where does your husband keep financial records?”

“Home office.”

We went upstairs.
