And then you notice that something just doesn’t make sense.
That’s the appeal of an observation puzzle. The image doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes one tiny inconsistency is enough to completely change the way you see the entire scene.
The Scene
At first glance, everything seems perfectly ordinary.
It’s a peaceful winter landscape covered in snow. A man is walking along a rural path with his dog, while a fence stretches across the background and an open field disappears into the distance.
The trees are bare.
The ground is white.
The countryside looks quiet and still.
Nothing immediately jumps out as unusual.
And that’s exactly what the puzzle is counting on.
Don’t Just Look at the Main Characters
It’s easy to concentrate on the man and his dog because they’re the most obvious subjects in the picture.
But don’t stop there.
Look at the entire landscape.
Study the fence.
Look carefully at the snow.
Pay attention to the footprints and other marks on the ground.
Examine the trees and the way the background elements fit together.
Sometimes the mistake isn’t hiding in the place where your eyes naturally go first.
