I Drove My Daughter’s Classmate to School for Free for 2 Years – When My Car Broke Down, Her Mom Refused My Child a Ride Because of Her New Seats, but Karma Struck the Very Next Day

For two years, I never thought twice about driving my neighbor’s daughter to school.

But the first morning I needed the same small favor for my own child, one glance at my daughter’s wet shoes changed everything.

For two full years, I drove my ten-year-old daughter, Emma, and her classmate Sophie to school every weekday.

Vanessa and I never created any official arrangement.

Sophie lived four houses away.

One morning, while I was packing Emma’s lunch, Vanessa knocked on my door.

“Would you mind taking Sophie today? My Pilates class got moved and I’m already late.”

“Sure,” I said. “We’re heading there anyway.”

The next morning, she asked again.

Then again a few days later.

Eventually, nobody asked anymore.

Sophie simply started appearing at our house at 7:20 every morning with her backpack.

I honestly didn’t mind.

She was a sweet kid—quiet at first, but funny once she relaxed.

Emma liked having someone to talk to during the drive, and the school was only about five miles away.

Besides, I had always been the parent people called when something went wrong.

If Greg had to work late, I drove his daughter Mia to soccer.

When Rachel broke her ankle, I handled school pickups for her two boys for almost three weeks.
